Upward Basketball is a unique sports ministry specifically designed to do just what the name implies; build kids up in character, self-esteem and commitment to Christ.

Sports are a great way for children to learn about teamwork, respect for authority and sportsmanship. The sad part is all those things are being lost in today's sporting society. With Upward, these key essentials are included to create the best sporting experience for every child.  

Upward does this by: 

* Providing an evaluation system that ensures competitively balanced teams

* Having practices that continue throughout the season

* Implementing a substitution system to make sure every child has equal playing time 

* Creating the opportunity for every child to learn the skills of the game and life skills that build character and self-esteem as well

* Coaches and workers who have a desire to influence young people for Christ

The emphasis is placed on having fun and good sportsmanship, not the scoreboard and standings. Every child plays. Every child learns. Every child is a Winner!
